Saturday Run – 11.23.13

Finally, I figured out how to dress for a 45 degree run outside. Two long sleeves (this from Old Navy and this from Patagonia), and long tights. No hats, headbands, gloves required! I wanted to hit 7 miles today, so I ran 2 miles straight down 25A/Northern Blvd, 2 miles straight back to my house, and then completed the Manhasset 5K route that we run every October. For the first time  ever, I actually RAN the ENTIRE hill on Rockwood, and actually did it after 5 miles of running, not 2. High fives all the way home from there. The run felt like one of my best in a long time. I kept the pace just under 10 minute miles and felt like I could have kept going if I had to. But I’m glad I didn’t have to.

I came home and scarfed down one of my friend Elizabeth’s homemade blueberry muffins. I may or may not have been thinking about it throughout most of the run. Cheers for Saturday night martini’s after my longest run of the season so far!
